About April Mayfield

Born in Columbus, OH-IO, home of the Buckeyes, this “Buckeye Princess” April Mayfield has set the bar and remained the bar for Food Service and Exemplary culinary skills. After only being enlisted for two years, April Mayfield was named Chef of the Quarter which afforded her the opportunity to be assigned multiple positions within the dining facility then later promoted to Corporal in March of 1996. In 2007, while serving in Okinawa, Japan, April was tasked to be the Food Service Advisor, for Operation Cobra Gold in Bangkok, Thailand.  April has won a Silver Medal in the baking category, while stationed in Fort Lee, Virginia, in addition to (1) Meritorious Service Medal, (3) Navy Commendation Medals, (2) Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals, (6) Good Conduct Awards. April has had an impressive career in the United States Marine Corps. and has since retired after 27 years of  extraordinary service.
